Well-known Sculptor Conleth Gent (www.conlethgent.ie) will be running a woodcarving course two hours per day one day a week over a five week period based in the Trinity Botanic Gardens at Dartry, Dublin 6 (nearest Luas Station, Milltown). Conleth Gent has exhibited widely throughout Ireland and has been a multiaward winner at Sculpture in Context in the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin.

His work has been presented to President Mary Robinson and other dignitaries. He has worked on large scale sculptures for Dun Laoghaire and Galway County Councils.

The course is primarily aimed as an introduction to woodcarving with all tools and materials provided.

The main focus is on creativity and individuality and nurturing it through the medium of woodcarving. All abilities will be catered for, as each participant will receive individual tuition. Participants will be introduced to the tools and how to sharpen, maintain and use them and the materials and characteristics of the different woods. Most will have their own sculpture to take home by the end of the course.

Every Monday 11am-1pm for five weeks commencing on 8th August 2022 in the Trinity Botanic Gardens opposite Palmerston Park, Dartry, Dublin 6 (nearest Luas Station, Milltown)

Course Fees

The course will cost €160 for five classes. All materials will be supplied. Full payment in advance by 1st July is essential and required to secure your place. Please note all monies are non-refundable except in the event of course cancellation.
