Led by Professor Luke O’Neill and Professor Cliona O’Farrelly from Trinity College Dublin’s School of Biochemistry and Immunology, Infectious is a major new exhibition at TCD’s Science Gallery exploring mechanisms of infection and strategies of containment through science and art including a live epidemic simulation.
Running from April 17th to July 17th 2009, the Infectious exhibition opened with a three-day long festival of events, talks and performances from leading Irish and international viral gurus exploring the wider dimensions of contagion including workshops on molecular jewellery and viral marketing.
Visitors to the exhibition can be screened on arrival for bacteria and infections they might be carrying and will be electronically tagged to monitor their state of contamination. They will also have the opportunity to have their DNA swabbed and analysed at the exhibition.
