Trinity College Dublin features prominently in the just published QS Subject Rankings 2016, with a top 50 ranking in four subjects and top 100 ranking in a further twelve areas. The University’s leading 50 subjects include Nursing in 31st place worldwide, English, Language & Literature in 32nd place; Modern Languages in 39th place and Politics and International Studies in 43rd place.
Trinity is also ranked in the QS top 100 universities in the world in each of the following twelve areas: History; Performing Arts; Philosophy; Biological Sciences; Pharmacy and Pharmacology; Materials Science; Education; Chemistry; Geography; Law; Social Policy and Administration; and Sociology.
It is ranked first place in Ireland in all but one of these sixteen subjects.
The 2016 QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluated 4,226 universities globally and ranked 945 institutions in total. Universities are scored according to academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact (citations).
This achievement is a testimony to Trinity’s globally competitive research and to our commitment to the highest standards of teaching. Trinity's strong performance in these subjects also reflects the quality students that Trinity attracts. It is particularly important that employers as well as academics were consulted for these rankings, demonstrating how well regarded Trinity graduates are by employers worldwide.
