At an official Friends of CROSS annual meeting at Trinity College Dublin on 19 November, Team Uniphar presented officials with a cheque for €42,686.47 for cancer research at Trinity and St James's Hospital. A Uniphar team of fourteen colleagues and friends, including Group CEO, Ger Rabbette and Managing Director, Uniphar Manufacturing Services, Padraic Dempsey, took part in the recent CROSS Atlantic 1000 cycle in early September.
Led by former Ireland International and Lions player Paul Wallace and accompanied by a host of International rugby legends, Team Uniphar crossed the finish line in great time.
Ger Rabbette, Group CEO, said, “The decision to take part in this cycle was very simple. It is a great way of giving something back and to help raise funds for more research to combat this terrible illness. Not only was it a very enjoyable few days, it was fantastic to be in a position to raise much needed funds for this great charity.Thank you to all those who kindly donated.”
"We are privileged to be associated with Uniphar Group in this important initiative. The much-needed funding enables us to undertake cutting-edge translational cancer research in Trinity," said John Reynolds, Professor of Surgery at Trinity College Dublin's School of Medicine & Consultant at St James's Hospital.
